Finding Your Purpose in Chaos:
Reflecting on Your Career

Keys to finding your purpose in chaos lie within yourself.

In order to succeed in your career, you must first reflect on where you've been and why you're at the place you are today.

“Life must be understood backwards; but... it must be lived forward.”
Soren Kierkegaard

Take time to write down thoughts on your current situation, such as:

  • What motivated you to take the job you have now?
  • What have you gained from your experience here?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses? Ask colleagues or friends if you're not sure, and be honest with yourself

Finding your purpose will not happen overnight. Taking time to reflect and think about your current situation will help you put things in a different perspective.

Sometimes it helps to get away from the situation in order to clearly see what's working and not working and to discover your true purpose.
